Finally

After what seems like an eternity, we finally moved into our new house over the weekend. I'll post some pix soon. In the meantime, here is a pic of the kids. If I were sending cards out this year, this would be it! Merry Christmas everyone!

1st Day of 1st Grade

So I'm only a couple of weeks late, but at least I am getting Trey's 1st day of school pics posted. It's been crazy busy around here. And once the kids are in bed that's straight where I head too!

Here is Trey with our principal Mrs. Sutherland

Trey and Ms. Ackerman (our assistant principal)

Of course he had to have a pic with his little sis!

Trey LOVES his new backpack. It took us a loooonngg time to find this. I told him he would be carrying it for a couple of years (yah, right mom!)

Last Day

Today is my last day of summer vacation. I can't believe how fast it has gone by. It's also a little loney today as Trey is spending a week in Kansas City with his Grandma and Grandpa. It gets harder and harder to get back into the swing of things. I had so much fun with Trey and Lexi that I don't want it to end. But, all good things must! I will be back in about a week to post pix and info about Trey's 1st day of 1st grade!

Curt and I celebrated our 10 year anniversary by taking a trip with our good friends, Thad and Jonica. We met them in Vegas for a couple of days. Then it was off to Los Cabos, Mexico. And although it was very hot, a great time was had by all!

Big Love

The following is a summary of the conversation that my parents had with Trey in the car on the way to lunch:

Nanny: So, why aren't mommy and daddy taking us on their trip with them?

Trey: Because it's their anniversary.

Grandad: Do you know what an anniversary is?

Trey: Yes. It's when two lovebirds go on a trip to celebrate how long they've been married and they have big love.

Don't you just wonder where kids get these things?

Summer Party

Every summer we have our annual Summer Party with some of Curt's friends from high school. This year the event was held at Jon and Tonya's house. We ate a TON of food (the Rolo cookies were the best) and the kids (there were 10 of them) had a blast playing wiffle ball, jumping on the trampoline, using the slip n slide and just playing with each other. A great time was had by all!

Lexi enjoyed jumping on the trampoline with our friend Jennifer.

Trey, Tyson, and Dane liked trying to "tag" each other out on the slip n slide. They pretended they were sliding into home base.

Lexi got in on the action too!

Lexi enjoyed riding around on this little motorized car. Makenna showed her how to push the button to make it go. Looks like we have a little daredevil on our hands.Even boys like to look pretty!
Both kids were pretty pooped after the weekend of fun!

Baby

Lexi got her first baby doll the other day. I decided to get her one after Ms. Bonnie (at daycare) told me she loves the baby there. She feeds it, puts it in the swing, and just loves it. She does the same thing here at home. It is so cute! She also likes to pretend she's drinking out of the baby bottle too sometimes.

By the way, this is her 4th of July dress that matches Trey's outfit in the previous post.

Firecracker Day

This year we were invited to my good friend Kari's house for a cookout and to shoot fireworks. This is one of Trey's favorite holidays (Curt's too). Trey wore his best 4th of July outfit. Lexi has a matching dress, but I opted not to put it on her. Didn't think a dress was that easy to play in.

Lexi's ready for her close up. Surprisingly, she didn't get scared at all by the fireworks. She jumped a few times at the loud bangs, but then would turn and look at me and laugh. I have a feeling she's going to love Independence Day too.

My best friend Julie was also there. Lexi hung out with her a lot.

DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME! Trey was allowed to hold his own Roman Candles. All the other kids got to (even some younger than him) so he was very upset when he wasn't getting to also. So, under close adult supervision, he was allowed to shoot one off.

Isn't this sooooooo cute? Trey is sitting next to his friend Kate (my friend Kari's daughter) watching the fireworks show. We all had a GREAT time! Thanks Kari and Shane (and Kris and Jon too)

Ride 'em cowboy

Saturday we went to West Plains for a family reunion/camping trip. It was sooooooooooo stinkin' hot, but all the kids had a blast playing with the water and riding horses. Here is Trey with our cousin Rick.

My dad (aka Grandad) helps Trey on the horse.
Trey loved riding the horses! Here he actually got to guide the horse all by himself! We may have a future cowboy here!

The Lake

We made it to the lake this weekend. We stayed the night Sat. night with our friends Chris and Lisa. Headed out on the boat Sat. afternoon. Sunday was a little iffy with the weather, but the sun finally peeked out and we went out again for a few hours. It was Lexi's first time to go to the lake. She really seemed to like it! Trey has been there before and absolutely loves it!

Trey, Curt, and Lexi hangin' in the lake

Trey had a blast jumping off the back of the boat. He was a little upset that we didn't have time to get our tube. He LOVES to go tubing!

Finally

It seems like forever since my last post. I have been busy getting our house ready to put on the market. It is now officially for sale. We have an open house this Sunday so I've been trying to do a few last minute things to help it look nice.

I've also spent my time finishing the Twilight series. I finally thought I was through until my friend, Sundi, enlightened me with the information that another partial book is on the internet. Will this never end?!?!? Apparently this book is the Twilight book but told from Edward's point of view instead of Bella's viewpoint. It is not even a whole book, but I'm already sucked in (no pun intended) to reading it. I guess the author was in the process of writing it when it leaked on the internet so she just published it on her website.

We are heading to the lake this weekend. It will be Lexi's first trip. Hopefully I'll remember to take pix and post them next week!

Monday, June 1, 2009

Well, Lexi had her big day on Saturday! We had a great time. Her Great Mamau and Papau were there along with her Grandma and Grandpa, Nanny and Grandad, Aunt Shannon and her cousins Kayla, Brianna, and Gabriel, her "Aunt" Julie, and her Great Aunt Tina and Great Uncle Nelson. We all enjoyed pizza for lunch. Lexi didn't like her birthday hat however, as I only got a few pictures before she yanked it off.
Lexi got a lot of wonderful gifts! Her favorite though has to be her Hello Kitty purse that her "Aunt" Julie got for her. She carried that purse around all day and would scream if you took it away from her! She would put it on her shoulder and say bye-bye. So cute! At first she wasn't to sure about the cake, but after one little taste of frosting .........

No time

You would think now that school is out that I would have plenty of time to make new posts. That has not been the case. Don't really know what I'm doing that takes all my time, but it goes somewhere! Lexi's birthday is coming up Saturday, so be looking for new birthday pix next week!

Lexi's Chair

My mom got Lexi this chair (before she was even born of course), and Lexi absolutely loves it! She will play in that chair forever. She sits, then she climbs, then she stands, then she swings her feet, then she lounges, then she gets a book and pretends to read. It's one of the cutest things to watch. Thanks mom!

Here she is just loungin' in her chair. Oh yah, it even came with a little ottoman too.

Catching up on Trey's week

The other day, Trey wanted to try on his baseball pants to make sure they fit for the upcoming T-ball season. He also put on his ECU jersey. Curt's cousin, Jake, played college baseball and got this jersey for Trey a year or two ago. It has Jake's number on it and he even has a matching hat! Hey batter - swing!

Trey had his very first field day at school this past Monday. He had an absolute blast! Here he is racing to the finish line to hand his cup off to his teammate Ty.

They had to put water in a cup (which of course had holes in the bottom) and during this relay they had to hop to the other side then pour the water (if any was left) into the pail. Most of the water got on the kids instead of in the pail!

Curt came home from work today wearing his uniform. Normally he wears slacks and a shirt. Lexi has never seen Curt in his uniform. She was very curious. She especially liked his shiny badge!
Of course, Trey had to get into the mix and have his picture taken too. I wouldn't have it any other way!

Kindergarten Celebration

Tonight was Trey's Kindergarten Celebration. It's so hard to believe that my baby boy is almost a 1st grader. Time sure flies by.

As you can see, Trey wanted to look extra special for the concert. He loves to dress nice in his suit coat and tie.
Here is Trey with his teacher, Ms. Sorrell. She is awesome and Trey just loves her. She has taught him so much and they do some amazing things in her class. We love Ms. Sorrell!
