Big Love

The following is a summary of the conversation that my parents had with Trey in the car on the way to lunch:

Nanny: So, why aren't mommy and daddy taking us on their trip with them?

Trey: Because it's their anniversary.

Grandad: Do you know what an anniversary is?

Trey: Yes. It's when two lovebirds go on a trip to celebrate how long they've been married and they have big love.

Don't you just wonder where kids get these things?

Summer Party

Every summer we have our annual Summer Party with some of Curt's friends from high school. This year the event was held at Jon and Tonya's house. We ate a TON of food (the Rolo cookies were the best) and the kids (there were 10 of them) had a blast playing wiffle ball, jumping on the trampoline, using the slip n slide and just playing with each other. A great time was had by all!

Lexi enjoyed jumping on the trampoline with our friend Jennifer.

Trey, Tyson, and Dane liked trying to "tag" each other out on the slip n slide. They pretended they were sliding into home base.

Lexi got in on the action too!

Lexi enjoyed riding around on this little motorized car. Makenna showed her how to push the button to make it go. Looks like we have a little daredevil on our hands.Even boys like to look pretty!
Both kids were pretty pooped after the weekend of fun!

Baby

Lexi got her first baby doll the other day. I decided to get her one after Ms. Bonnie (at daycare) told me she loves the baby there. She feeds it, puts it in the swing, and just loves it. She does the same thing here at home. It is so cute! She also likes to pretend she's drinking out of the baby bottle too sometimes.

By the way, this is her 4th of July dress that matches Trey's outfit in the previous post.

Firecracker Day

This year we were invited to my good friend Kari's house for a cookout and to shoot fireworks. This is one of Trey's favorite holidays (Curt's too). Trey wore his best 4th of July outfit. Lexi has a matching dress, but I opted not to put it on her. Didn't think a dress was that easy to play in.

Lexi's ready for her close up. Surprisingly, she didn't get scared at all by the fireworks. She jumped a few times at the loud bangs, but then would turn and look at me and laugh. I have a feeling she's going to love Independence Day too.

My best friend Julie was also there. Lexi hung out with her a lot.

DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME! Trey was allowed to hold his own Roman Candles. All the other kids got to (even some younger than him) so he was very upset when he wasn't getting to also. So, under close adult supervision, he was allowed to shoot one off.

Isn't this sooooooo cute? Trey is sitting next to his friend Kate (my friend Kari's daughter) watching the fireworks show. We all had a GREAT time! Thanks Kari and Shane (and Kris and Jon too)
